Beechwood Park includes a large wildlife area that is home to many different species, including deer, foxes, breeding birds, butterflies, toads and wildflowers. It is a great place for people to get outdoors for dog walking and exercise. There is an easy access route at this site.

There is a circular routes that is 1.2km long. The path is wide and generally smooth, but the tarmac is cracked in places. The path has passing places. There are no steep gradients. There are no steep cross cambers
We encourage the use of sustainable transport whenever possible. The entrance is at the North East corner of the site highlighted on the site map, link above.
The closest train station Halifax.
Bus numbers 504 Halifax to Denholme and 526 Halifax to Shelf.
There is a bus stop within 50 metres of the site entrance (on the main road at the bottom of the hill)
From Halifax town centre take the A629 towards Keighley. Follow this road, passing a Morrisons supermarket on the left, follow the road around the first bend (to the right) and as the road begins to bend again (to the left) turn off to the right down Whitehill Road. Follow this past a number of houses untill you come to fields on the right. Turn right down Heathy Lane and just after the section of single track road turn right into the car park.
The surface of the car park is tarmac and loose stone.
There is space for approx 20 cars.
There is a drop-off point for visitors immediately outside the site entrance.
The site entrance is accessible for all. There is access to the majority of highlights and viewpoints. All ramps have a nonslip surface and handrails.
There are NO accessible toilet facilities on site - The nearest accessible toilet facilities are at Leaventhorpe Lane,Thornton, Bradford or Lawkholme Lane, Keighley.
There are NO refreshment facilities on site – The nearby village of Holmfield has a number of cafes and tea rooms.
There are accessible picnic benches on site.
Service dogs are welcomed.
