The High Priority Areas are also available as a Geographic Information System (GIS) data set [zip 6 mb]. The files are in ESRI shapefile format and have been compressed using standard windows software to minimise download time.
The targeting statements for Joint Character Areas outline the key characteristics of the different parts of the English countryside. Each area has priority targets for a variety of features to which Environmental Stewardship management options should be applied.

South West Land Management Stakeholder Group
This group is chaired by the Natural England Regional Director and includes external stakeholders and partners, statutory agencies and environmental and farming organisations.
