It incorporates guidance on Environmental Stewardship delivery. This information is for potential applicants for Higher Level Stewardship, current agreement holders, and farming and environmental partners and stakeholders.
Priorities up to September 2008
- Agreements which will help put in place the management required to achieve target condition on SSSIs
- High quality applications leading to multi-objective agreements, especially from High Priority Areas
South West Higher Level Stewardship Priority Targeting
Natural England is moving to a spatial approach to delivering Higher Level Stewardship and is mapping the country to establish which land holdings will provide the most environmental benefit with the funds available. The maps will be operational in October 2008. Details of the different phases to this approach can be seen below.
