Natural England - Rights of Way Improvement Plans

Rights of Way Improvement Plans

Rights of Way Improvement Plans ensure improvements to the network of public rights of way and other non-motorised routes meet the needs of all types of user. They are a new duty for all local authorities under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.

As a demonstration project in the South East, Hampshire County Council is producing plans for the Forests of Bere and Eversley, focusing on the issue of equestrian use.

Information from authorities involved will inform other authorities, helping them plan their own Rights of Way Improvement Plans.
