Outdoors for All forum aims

The South East Outdoors for All Forum can help to achieve the Government’s aim of getting more people enjoying and benefiting from the natural environment.

Outdoor activities are often associated with white, middle aged, middle class and non-disabled people. Defra's Outdoors for All action planexternal link commits Natural England to work with it's partners to encourage under-represented groups to get out and enjoy natural green space for recreation and well being.

The South East Regional Outdoors for All Forum aims to:

  • Encourage more access provision for under-represented groups.

  • Provide better information about accessing the natural environment to a wider audience.

  • Collect and share evidence as a measure of what is being done.

  • Encourage a region wide approach to Outdoors for All.

  • Raise concerns and issues with Government via Natural England.

The Forum Action Plan aims to:

  • Continue to develop a functional forum that increases representation across the region.

  • Build a showcase/portfolio of ideas and good practice on the internet.

  • Collect information to measure levels of engagement.

  • Raise issues and concerns at quarterly meetings for Natural England to pass on to Defra/Government.
