Cumbria Wild Zone is a Cluster Group of tourism businesses in Cumbria whose business is providing visitors with responsible experiences of wild life and wild places.
This group was formed in 2009 under the banner “wild zone”. To date the group has been supported by Cumbria Tourism using funding from the Natural Economy North West Programme.
The group currently comprises in the region of 25 members organisations which include the owners and managers of many of the most visited “wild places” in Cumbria. These are a combination of visitor economy businesses, public sector and member organisations. Each business has a wide array of outdoor event programmes.
The group has established a strong commitment to partnership working and is managed by a “board” which includes representatives from each type of member organisation, including Natural England.
