Green Infrastructure planning across the region
GI strategies have been completed for nearly all the key centres of growth and regeneration across the East of England region.
GI strategies (also called GI Plans and Green Grids) provide visionary and strategic frameworks for integrated environmental planning across an area where significant new growth and development is planned. GI strategies provide an up to date and consistent data base of existing assets (ecological, recreational, landscape and historical), which is then analysed to identify gaps and opportunities in the ecological and recreational networks.
