Following the announcement of an outbreak of avian influenza in East Anglia, Natural England is working closely with Defra to support them during the incident; in particular it is advising them on public access and wildlife management.

Natural England does not manage any National Nature Reserves in the Protection or Surveillance Zones. However it will increase its regular bird monitoring on all relevant reserves.
