Foot and Mouth Disease – Impact of stock movement restrictions on compliance with agri-environment agreements
Joint note from Natural England and the Rural Payments Agency - 3 September 2007
The restrictions on the movements of susceptible animals, imposed as a result of the foot and mouth disease outbreak, have now largely been lifted. This means that agri-environment agreement holders should now be able to fully comply with the terms of their agreement with regard to grazing requirements.
If, in individual cases the movement restrictions, such as the twenty day standstill restrictions, or restrictions of movements on farms within the Surveillance Zone (SZ) results in an inability to comply, agreement holders should contact their Natural England adviser to discuss their options.
