Licences
Natural England brings together, for the first time, the full statutory range of wildlife management issues. We will issue licences under a range of wildlife legislation. Our role is to issue licences for activities that would otherwise be illegal but where a valid justification exists.

Most licences are issued free of charge.
* Note: General licences allow certain actions to be carried out that would otherwise be illegal under the legislation, without the need for people to apply for a specific licence. These include licences for trapping of shrews and possession of European Protected Species.
