Stiperstones hosts a variety of different species, all year round.
The best time to visit the reserve is late summer, when the heather and gorse are in bloom.
Spring and early summer is good for insects and birdlife, while during autumn shrubs and bushes are dripping in berries.
Specific species to look out for are:
Spring – wheatear, skylark, emperor moth
Summer – common lizard, cuckoo, green hairstreak, cotton grass
Autumn – whinberry, red grouse, waxcaps
Winter – raven, red kite
