Holkham National Nature Reserve offers exciting and engaging outdoor learning opportunities for schools, with activities such as habitat exploration, natural art and craft, owl pellet investigation, food web games, and the chance to make wildlife homes and feeders to take back to your school garden.
Sessions are curriculum-linked and support the Every Child Matters agenda and Learning outside the Classroom initiative. Biodiversity work can be credited towards the Eco School award schemes.
All the activities can be adapted to suit the particular needs of the children and tailored to your schemes of work. Visits by youth groups e.g. Girlguiding and Scouts, are also welcome. A range of outdoor challenges, crafts and wildlife exploration can be organized for you.
Contact the Community Outreach Adviser, Catherine Foreman, for more details and booking arrangements: catherine.foreman@naturalengland.org.uk
See also our section on information for students and teachers. We provide information on places that schools can visit, resources for lessons, and contacts for other relevant information.
