Burnham Beeches NNR is an extensive area of beech and oak wood pasture with small areas of hazel coppice, dry and wet heathland and sphagnum bog.

Although most NNRs are managed by Natural England, 88 are wholly or partly managed by other bodies approved by Council, under Section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
Burnham Beaches NNR is owned and managed by the Corporation of London.
The NNR is 4 km north of Slough. There is a carpark on site. Local buses, numbers 74 and 40, stop nearby. There is disabled access with wheelchair tracks. The reserve can be visited all year.
There are toilet and refreshment facilities on site.
