Although most NNRs are managed by Natural England, 88 are wholly or partly managed by other bodies approved by Council, under Section 35 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. 

Castle Bottom NNR is owned and managed by Hampshire County Council.

There are some areas of woodland including aspen which is home to a number of scarce invertebrates.

The best time to visit the reserve is during the summer.

Location and access

The reserve is part of Eversley Common, 1 km south west of Yateley and 2.5 km west of Sandhurst.

By car, access to the site is via the B3016.

The nearest train station is in Sandhurst, served by. For details of local bus services go to the Travel Search website.

The reserve is also close to a major trail, the Three Castles Path.
