Consultation on Natural England’s draft Enforcement Policy
This consultation closed on 18 October 2008.
This consultation seeks your views on our approach to enforcement, the principles that we apply to our enforcement work and whether our draft Enforcement Policy will achieve our aims.
Natural England is responsible for the regulatory stewardship and enforcement of offences relating to: Sites of Special Scientific Interest, illegal burning of heathland and grassland, agricultural work which affects uncultivated land or semi-natural areas and breaches of licences and notices that we issue under a range of legislation relating to wildlife management and protected species.
Overall the draft Enforcement Policy aims to set out clearly Natural England’s approach to enforcement and the general principles we intend to follow in a way that embeds good regulatory practice whilst ensuring the protection and enhancement of England’s natural environment.
